The Journey

Rendered Image                            As the music started Renan walked on stage. When it was his part. I got so scared then the rappers came on now I got freaked out.  Now it was my turn I walked/skipped on stage and started dancing. The crowd started clapping and cheering but I decided not to let nerves take me away. So I moved along with the music with delicate movements. As our dance finished we all walked to the back of the stage. As the crowd cheered I felt terrified as the actors came on stage. But I couldn't see the most of people in the audience. As I heard the actors say ``Let's celebrate with one last song’’. We all took  a step into the lights then we all heard the music. `` We Are the World’’ we all started we started doing movements the crowd started clapping I LOVE SCHOOL PRODUCTION!

The Greatest Showman Comes to Hoon Hay School!

We enjoyed another wonderful assembly on Friday with our gorgeous buddies. Thanks to Mr Coapman's plastering stilts, we even had the tallest man (Lachie) at school. Mrs Peterson and Mrs Coapman went all out in their tails and top hats, and the children all looked colourful and happy as they shared a rousing rendition of "This is Me". We love this song because it reminds us to believe in ourselves and to step out in confidence - with whatever it is we are doing!

Jolt

On Tuesday we went to the Jolt dance workshop. It was a really fun dancing program. The part that I really loved was EVERY game that we played. We played a stick game. So how you play it is music is playing and everyone is sitting in a circle. You're passing the sticks around the circle and when the music stops, the people with sticks have to stand up and go in the middle and do a dance with the sticks.

Elsie's and Evie's maths session.

At our school we work with a maths mate and share our thinking with them. We ask questions about our maths and if we aren't sure of something, we explain how we do it. We know that 2 brains are often better than one and we enjoy working collaboratively.

Today our question was:
Kyla, Mya and Grace went to the movies. Their tickets cost $ 14.60 each. How much did their tickets cost altogether? Our answer was $43.80

Poetry

Poetry
In writing I have used a poem by James K. Baxter as a starting point to write my own holiday poem. I hope you like it.
Evie’s James K Baxter Poem

`
Nelson was usual enough;
It had orange tents, the golden beach, blue caravans,  silver bikes and even a rusty bbq.
My Mum, Dad, Reuben and I did what children do -
Playing at the beach, swimming with our boogie boards, eating fish’n’chips, running to the swing set, and laughing at Reuben tripping over!

Doing nothing important.
